A Carrickmacross councillor has hit out at people parking in the town all day.
MD Cathaoirleach PJ O'Hanlon told a recent MD meeting that while "we do not want people getting tickets, there are rules in place".
He says people are unfairly parking in the town from 9 in the morning to 4 in the evening.
He added that "two hours free parking is fair" and says people should not be able to "park here all day for nothing."
Meanwhile, Colm Carthy said "the message needs to go out that we hope there will be greater parking warden provision in the future".
He noted that the MD has requested more traffic wardens, adding that "we need safe parking in the town".
