A Cavan councillor has hit out at phone signal blackspots that are affecting Cavan General Hospital.
While Peter McVitty says it is not a new issue, he told a recent County Council meeting that the problem is being raised more due to covid-related visiting restrictions.
He passed a motion calling on the Council to contact the hospital's General Management to enquire what changes can be made.
He says patients struggle to make phone calls in certain parts of the hospital and voiced concern about difficulties in bed-bound patients reaching loved ones:
Meanwhile, Councillor John Paul Feeley asked the council to contact mobile phone providers to see if a mast can be erected to improve service in the area.
