A local councillor has raised his concerns over the lack of dog wardens across Co Monaghan.
While Sinn Fein's Sean Conlon acknowledged that Monaghan County Council has a dog warden which provides an "excellent service", he says that "gaps" have been identified.
Cllr Conlon highlighted the growth in dog ownership since Covid, however he believes resources in personnel have not matched that growth.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Conlon believes there are a number of issues occurring across Co Monaghan which can only be dealt with by more staff appointed.
While it has been promised by a number of Government agencies that 40 extra dog wardens will be recruited throughout the state.
Cllr Conlon said that it is "frustrating" that Co Monaghan has still not received one:
