A local councillor has called on Bank of Ireland to reverse its decision to remove its ATM from Clones.
The Bank of Ireland branch in Clones will shut on the 8th of October.
While people were given advance notice of this, Councillor Pat Treanor questioned whether they were also informed of the decision to remove the ATM.
Councillor Treanor added that Bank of Ireland has been asked to "at least keep the ATM".
Councillor Treanor passed a motion for a letter to be sent to Bank of Ireland's CEO, as well as the Ministers for Finance and Public Expenditure, in a "last ditch attempt to keep the ATM".
While councillors at the Ballybay-Clones MD supported the motion, concern was expressed that "the writing is on the wall" regarding the ATM's future.
