All council offices are set to close in Cavan for the duration of Level 5 restrictions, but Monaghan's offices will remain open.
Outdoor maintenance and repair works will remain operational in both counties.
All council offices, libraries, and theatres will be closed to the public in Cavan for the duration of Level 5 restrictions.
However, Cavan County Council says it will continue to provide essential services and necessary meetings can be arranged by appointment only.
The council’s roads programme and outdoor maintenance will also continue and public parks and playgrounds remain open.
Day-to-day business – including payments and booking of necessary appointments – can be conducted by phone or email, while motor tax can be renewed online at motortax.ie.
The ‘Community Call’ Helpline also remains open and vulnerable citizens can operate a book delivery service through it.
In Monaghan, libraries and theatres will also close but all of the County Council’s offices, except the Motor Tax Office, will remain open.
However, an appointments-only service will be in operation in the Motor Tax Office.
While offices remain open, the Council has appealed to the public to minimise face-to-face contact by availing of online services.
Public playgrounds and parks will remain open and all repair, maintenance and construction services will continue.
A library delivery service is also available to those who are cocooning and this service can be accessed by contacting the local branch library.
Monaghan County Council’s Covid-19 Community Helpline also remains available throughout restrictions.
