Monaghan County Council says it will continue to seek funding for flood mitigation works in Castleblayney, having been unsuccessful in two previous applications.
In a statement to Northern Sound, the council said it is aware of flooding issues at Annadrummond and will follow up with the OPW regional inspector to progress a scheme to alleviate flooding.
Monaghan County Council says it has designed a flood mitigation scheme for the L3720 at Annadrummond and made an application for funding to the OPW.
However, no funding has been received to progress the scheme.
Previous applications for funding were unsuccessful due to the "cost-benefit analysis not being achievable", with the works estimated to cost around €600,000.
The Council says engineers will follow up these applications with the OPW regional inspector.
Last week, Anndrummond resident Geraldine Lambe pleaded for flood relief works to be carried out and revealed that her brother once had to be air-lifted to hospital because the flooding was so severe.
Meanwhile, Castleblayney councillor Aidan Campbell says a number of families in the area are "completely cut-off" when flooding occurs and has called on the Council to revise its funding applications.
