Cavan County Council says expense claims submitted by one of its Councillors were legitimate.
Fianna Fáil's Clifford Kelly featured in a television investigation into expense claims made by some Councillors.
The Council launched a review after issues came to light.
It was claimed Councillor Kelly has submitted expenses to Cavan County Council for events he attended in 2017 and 2018. However, it was also claimed he had submitted expense claims to CMETB and Dundalk IT for events on the same dates.
Cavan County Council has confirmed to Northern Sound News that it has carried out a review into the claims.
In a statement, it says "Councillor Kelly certified his attendance at these events and appropriate distances from his place of private residence to both venues were submitted".
Meanwhile, Monaghan County Council says its review into claims submitted by Councillor Seamus Coyle is continuing.
He also featured in the investigation into expenses.
Monaghan Council says it expects its review to be completed in early September.
