A new cycle and walking route through Cootehill could be built to mark the town's 300th anniversary, if plans get the go-ahead.
Local Councillor Aiden FitzPatrick this week called for the Municipal District to explore the plans.
He said the 50km route, which would link a number of mills in the surrounding area, would be a fitting way to mark the town's history as a market town.
It would be a signposted walking and cycling route linking a number of local villages using existing roads.
It's hoped the "Coote Hills and Mills Route" would be up and running for the anniversary in 2025.
