Cootehill's Abcon Industrial Products has won a prestigious award at the 2022 Generation Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Awards. The company took home the 'Pioneering Micro-Employer' accolade at a recently held ceremony in Dublin.
The Abcon Industrial Products Team said it was thrilled to emerge victorious and also congratulated Dairymaster and McAree Engineering Ltd on their success at the event.
Meanwhile, the company was founded in 2005 by Barry Smith, Paul Gilsenan and Sean Daly. Initially based in Belturbet, Abcon Industrial Products later moved to Cootehill in an effort to facilitate its growing business where 150 staff are employed today.
"We are absolutely thrilled to receive the award for the Employer of the Year at the Apprenticeship Ireland award ceremony. Huge congratulations to Dairymaster and McAree Engineering Ltd on their awards also, well deserved.
"Finally, many thanks to the Apprenticeship Ireland Office and Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim Education and Training Board," added the team.
