The road is expected to remain closed this morning while a forensic examination of the scene is carried out.

St Michael's hall in Cootehill was built in 1905 as a parish hall and has stood as a much loved prominent building for over 100 years.

Local Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Peter will take in a 30km cycle to Haltons Amenity Park in Cootehill, followed by an 8km trip on the Dromore River in a kayak as well as a 2km swim before cycling back to Monaghan for 5pm.
