Cootehill Mart is set to reopen on Thursday for its weekly sheep sale.
The local mart was one of the buildings that fell victim to Storm Eowyn.
The weekly Friday evening cattle sale had to be cancelled as a result of the extensive damage caused to the structure of the livestock mart building. The impacts of Storm Éowyn, which struck the country in the early hours of Friday morning caused widespread damage to buildings and properties across the country with fallen trees and power outages countrywide.
High winds in the storm blew in the whole front of the mart building and lifted the first 25-30 feet of the roof over the sheep rings. Works are underway to make sure the mart is open for business for Thursday and Friday of this week.
