The Cootehill office for Fine Gael that was run by Heather Humphreys since 2011 is to remain open under Deputy David Maxwell.
The local TD confirmed to Northern Sound that the office was staying open which means Deputy Maxwell will now operate two offices, one in Monaghan Town and one in Cootehill.
The Monaghan man was elected to the Dail earlier this month after his Dail bid following Heather Humphreys deciding to call it a day on her political career. The newly elected Fine Gael TD who has been a county councillor for over 20 years says he looks forward to continuing the work that Heather Humphreys has done in the constituency over the years.
Deputy Maxwell says it's a privilege and a honour to represent the people of Cavan and Monaghan and he said intends to deliver over this 5 year term.
