The contracts have been signed for the construction of Virginia Library.
Local Councillor for the area TP O'Reilly asked at yesterday's meeting of the Ballyjamesduff MD for an update on the project and was told that talks were in the 'advanced stages'.
Cavan County Council says that the documents were signed this morning by Council Cathaoirleach Sarah O'Reilly, something Councillor TP O'Reilly says will be a huge boost for the town.
Cavan County Council has today signed contracts with Demac Construction Ltd for the delivery of the landmark Virginia Civic Centre Project. Cathaoirleach, Cllr Sarah O’Reilly said the project “will be transformative for Virginia and its hinterland”.

Works are set to start on the project in the next 2 months with Demac Construction Ltd contracted.
Funding of €3,963,525 was given under the Rural Regeneration Development Fund and the total cost of the scheme will be €5.3 million.
