The long-awaited new garda station in Bailieborough has moved a step closer after confirmation that a contract has gone out for tender.
The news was confirmed by Minister for Public Works, Patrick O'Donovan, that a contract has now formally gone out for the new three storey facility.
The project was first announced in 2007 as the current Garda Station in Bailiebrough isn't fit for purpose.
The Former National Irish Bank building in the town was bought by the OPW to house the new station.
It's expected construction and renovations will take 18 months to complete.
