Works to construct a marina in Clones town are due to get underway today.
Contracts were signed last month to begin Phase Two of the restoration of the Ulster Canal, Last month, €40 million was granted under the Shared Island fund to bring the canal from Castlesaunderson to Clones.
Phase one saw the reopening of the waterway from Lough Erne to Castle Saunderson in 2019, at a cost €3 million.
This part of the project will see the development of an amenity area, a looped walkway and a forty-berth marina at the Ulster Canal Stores building.
The Canal Walkway from Scotshouse Road to the playground car park will be closed for the duration of the Marina Construction.
