Monaghan County Council has called on Minister Eamon Ryan to allocate additional funding for road restoration works in 2023. Cllr Seamus Coyle says the call is in response to the "atrocious condition" of numerous local roads throughout the county.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Coyle highlighted, what he described as Minister Ryan's failure to accept an invitation to visit the county and view the condition of local and regional roads for himself.
He added this latest motion will again be forwarded to the Minister and to all local Oireachtas members, requesting their immediate engagement with Minister Ryan on the issue.
Cllr Coyle says the condition of local roads is having a negative impact on the agricultural, business and daily lives of the people of Co Monaghan.
