A Cavan councillor has highlighted the urgent need for surfacing works to be completed on the Crossdoney to Killeshandra road. The concerns of Councillor John Paul Feeley were expressed at a recent meeting of the Cavan-Belturbet Municipal District.
Despite raising this issue on a number of previous occasions, Cllr Feeley said the local road has continued to "deteriorate rapidly." With a large number of heavy goods vehicles traveling on the Crossodoney to Killeshandra road on a daily basis, Cllr Feeley believes this road needs "specific attention"
When asking what could be done to rectify the situation, Civil Engineer, Paul Mulligan revealed that Cavan County Council was "very aware" of this road. According to Mr Mulligan, "significant money" is needed in order to carry out improvement works. While the section of road requires "significant funding" Mr Mulligan added that this is something that he would investigate.
