Concern has been expressed locally that the budget for TAMS will reduce dramatically post-2023.
Cavan Monaghan Sinn Fein TD, Deputy Matt Carthy says the move is likely at a time when additional investment will be required to meet climate action objectives.
He says he received confirmation that the TAMS budget from 2024 to 2027 will be an average of 35% smaller than previous years.
Deputy Carthy highlighted how the total TAMS budget between 2024 and 2027 will be approximately €234m - an average of €58.5m per year - and 35% less than the 2023 allocation.
He added that TAMS was crucial to supporting on-farm investment; delivering measures for the purchase of low-emission slurry spreading technology or Solar PV equipment; and farm building improvements.
