Motorists across the Northern Sound region have outlined their concerns in relation to waiting times for an NCT appointment.
Despite, the belief that An Garda Siochana and insurance companies will take an understanding approach to motorists driving without a valid NCT certificate due to the backlog, the waiting time for an NCT test has become a nationwide issue.
Speaking to Northern Sound, senior journalist with Newstalk, Eoghan Murphy revealed that according to Government the average waiting time is 12 days.
Despite this, he says almost 60 per cent of NCT centres have no test appointment available until the next five months.
Currently, a total of nine centres have no appointments until August - this is including Co Cavan.
