A Carrickmacross councillor is seeking an "urgent meeting" with Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys over the provision of Community Welfare Officers.
Colm Carthy told a recent MD meeting that recent changes have made "a lot of people very concerned for the services provided".
He added that people have been expressing concern about the possible closure of Community Welfare Offices in Co Monaghan.
Councillor Carthy says "other towns have lost their Community Welfare Officers" and is seeking assurances that these services will be provided into the future.
