A Cavan councillor has raised his concerns over road flooding on the L2011 in Redhills.
According to Sinn Fein's Paddy McDonald, during heavy periods of rainfall, large vehicles such as local school buses cannot access a certain part of the road.
Cllr McDonald's concerns in relation to this matter were discussed at this week's sitting of the Bailieborough-Cootehill Municipal District.
Due to issues with accessing the road, Cllr McDonald says that during bad weather, people have been forced to walk on the local link road if vehicles cannot get by.
In relation to concerns expressed by Cllr McDonald, a representative of Cavan County Council said that while the local authority tries its best to "maintain" all local roads, in this instance any works would require "significant financial investment," however this is something which could be looked at further down the line.
