A consultation process on the "South Dublin Street & Backlands Regeneration Scheme" showed 77% of respondents have concerns regarding the proposed plans.
An online campaign seeking the reversal of plans to demolish four buildings, including the birthplace of Charles Gavan Duffy was launched in May after the council's regeneration plans were revealed.
Eddie O'Gara from the campaign group says that a recent report from the council shows that of the 48 people to make a submission on the plans, 22 referenced the campaign and were concered about the demolition plans.
He says that while they are not asking for the development to be stopped, in light of the responses, they would like to see the current plans reconsidered:
