Ryanair recently announced plans to phase out printed boarding passes by next year and completely remove check-in counters.

A Cavan councillor believes companies who fully digitise their services are completely excluding older people.

Ryanair recently announced plans to phase out printed boarding passes by next year and completely remove check-in counters.

Boarding passes would be fully digital and check-in would be fully online, and bag drops would be self-service.

Sarah O'Reilly is an Aontú councillor in Cavan and a candidate for the upcoming general election.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Cllr O'Reilly says companies are engaging in digital exclusion and alienation, and the decision must be reversed
