A Cavan councillor has raised his concerns in relation to Irish Water and its treatment of local people.
Cllr Shane P O'Reilly says a number of local residents have found themselves either in between two different water systems or at the end of a scheme which has left them without water supply.
As a result, he believes communities have been "left behind" by Irish Water, and treated like "second class citizens."
At a recent Cavan County Council meeting, Cllr O'Reilly made a proposal to ask Irish Water to liaise with the areas impacted and to also liaise with the local authority to ensure that a supply can be found.
While he hopes the situation can be rectified, Cllr O'Reilly described the move as a "long shot" highlighting the difficulties that people have experienced when trying to make contact with the service.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the local representative described ongoing issues with the call centre and accessing support as "absolutely ridiculous" adding that it has caused "many problems" for people over the years.
