Co Monaghan has issued the lowest number of parking fines per capita in the past 14 months.
Between March of last year, and April 22nd of this year, 533 parking fines were issued in the county.
This equals 868 fines per 100,000 people.
Co Cavan ranked second-lowest, issuing 1,097 fines, giving a per capita figure of 1,440.
The figures were obtained by the Irish Independent, and shows that Co Kerry accounts for the largest number of parking fines per 100,000 people, at 10,718, followed by Cork at 9,498.
While Carrickmacross councillor Colm Carthy welcomed the low figures, he urged motorists to continue being considerate in their parking.
