A Co Cavan wind farm is set to become the first in the country to reach energisation.
The project at the Taghart wind farm is due to be fully commissioned and connected to the grid in the coming months.
Taghart Wind Farm was granted planning permission in 2017 and is expected to be fully operational by November 2022.
The seven-turbine, wind farm was one of the first renewable energy projects in the country to qualify for the Renewable Energy Support Scheme in 2020.
Statkraft Ireland managing director, Kevin O'Donovan, says "it's a really significant milestone not just for Statkraft, but also for Ireland".
He added that it will "ensure clean, sustainable energy is provided to the people of Ireland".
Statkraft entered the Irish market in 2018 and develops, owns, and operates renewable energy projects.
