A Co Cavan school is among the 40 grand finalists for this year's Junk Kouture.
Bailieborough Community School is one of the seven entrants from the North region, having been shortlisted for its "Danū" design.
Danū is inspired by the Celtic Goddess of the forest and woodland animals, and uses fallen pinecones and conkers from Dun na Rí forest park in its designs.
These materials show the rebirth and renewal of nature, while the autumnal colours of green and brown are used to represent the beauty of nature and the rich soil of Ireland.
For those who didn't qualify, there will be a second chance to reach the Grand Final on Wednesday, as one wildcard selection will be chosen from each of the five regions.
