A Co Cavan filmmaker has been named this year's Mental Health Champion by Headline.
The organisation is Ireland's national programme for responsible reporting and representation of mental health.
Alan Bradley from Virginia picked up the national award in recognition for his consistent and impactful reporting on mental health in Ireland.
The local actor and award-winning documentary director had major success being involved in ‘Patrick: A Young Traveller Lost’, that won awards which tells the story of 12-year-old Patrick McDonagh from Finglas, Dublin, who took his own life after he was bullied. His parents, Michelle and Pat McDonagh, were honoured with a ‘Special Recognition Award’, with the documentary also picking up an audience choice award.
