Four young people who died in a Co Armagh road crash over the weekend have been named locally. Marina Crilly, Emma Mallon, Phil Mitchell and Keith Morrison were all aged in their 20s. The group had been travelling in a grey Volkswagen Golf, which was involved in a single-vehicle collision in the early hours of Sunday morning.
PSNI District Commander Superintendent Paul McGrattan said this is "an unspeakable tragedy for the families involved, and for the wider community, who will understandably struggle to comprehend such loss of life. A thorough and sensitive investigation is now under way and anyone with information that could assist us is asked to get in touch with the Collision Investigation Unit."
Separately, a pedestrian in his 40s died following a road collision which happened in Newry. The crash, involving the man and a car, happened on the Forkhill Road at around 10.40pm on Saturday. The man was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.
