An official launch event recently took place at Johnston Central Library, Cavan.

Anyone interested in exploring their options at their local college can go along to the Institute's open night which is running until 7pm this evening.

Significant building expansions which are currently in development include extensions at Virginia College, Inver College Carrickmacross, Beech Hill College Monaghan, Coláiste Dún an Rí Kingscourt, and Breifne College Cavan.

47 new teachers are to be employed for the coming academic year.

NRG Panels and CMETB have developed a new traineeship course which will lead to qualifications and employment for local people.

Representatives from Cavan and Monaghan ETB met with members of the Oireachtas at a briefing where they expressed their concerns.

The extension will include four SEN classrooms, a music room, science lab, two tech rooms, textiles room and general purpose hall.

There will also be representatives from local colleges and training facilities on hand to provide information on training courses and apprenticeships.
