The CMETB has lodged a planning application to carry out improvement works at a Co Cavan school that has been earmarked for closure.
The works would entail improvements to the site entrance at St Mogue's College in Bawnboy.
A planning application has been lodged by the CMETB to carry out improvement works to the site entrance at St Mogue's, Bawnboy.
However, St Mogue's is also subject to a CMETB proposal that would merge St Bricin's College, Belturbet, and St Mogue's secondary schools into a new facility in Ballyconnell.
Last year, Education Minister Norma Foley committed to engaging with the west Cavan "Save Our Schools" campaign, who are opposed to the move, in a "positive" way.
The works would facilitate a widened entrance, new public footpath and pedestrian access, a new 'drop-off' area for cars and minibuses, and new staff car parking area
Elsewhere, a Co Cavan national school is seeking planning permission for a new single-storey classroom extension.
It would see St Mary's National School, in Townparks, Ballyhaise, erect a single storey classroom extension, to provide toilet facilities for two existing classrooms.
