The CMETB has confirmed that it will "immediately progress" works at Breifne College by appointing a design team.
Education Minister Norma Foley announced initial project approval and an all-in-grant for the significant expansion of the Cavan Town secondary school at the beginning of this month.
The project will include four general classrooms, seven SET rooms, and a number of specialised rooms, including three science labs, two engineering rooms, and an art room.
During a meeting of the CMETB yesterday, its Chief Executive John Kearney confirmed plans to "immediately progress" the project by "appointing a Design Team to design and tender the project and to oversee the construction".
