Sport Ireland has opened the application process for €35m in funding in response to the rising energy costs crisis.
Minister for Social Protection and Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys, is urging sport clubs across Cavan and Monaghan to apply to the Scheme.
The purpose of the funding, which was secured as part of Budget 2023, is to support National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs) and their affiliated clubs with the rising energy costs throughout the winter period.
Minister Humphreys highlighted how the Government recognised the huge value of sport to communities all across Ireland and is committed to assisting the sport sector in the current climate of high inflation.
She added, the scheme is a timely and effective means of ensuring that funding gets to local clubs during these difficult times.
