There is disruption to several school and businesses in the Northern Sound region due to the freezing weather this morning.
We will post updates as they come to us. For now, some of those who have announced a change to their regular hours include:
Credit Union Plus in Ballyjamesduff, which, won’t be opening until 11.15 today. Cavan Credit Union will be opening at 12pm today due to the adverse weather conditions.
St Kilians National School in Mullagh opening at 11am and closing at 2.30pm. Killinkere National School will remain closed today. Kingscourt bingo planned for tonight has been cancelled.
Bingo is cancelled in Blackhill Emeralds GAA tonight due to the bad weather conditions.
PART TWO:
Compared to yesterday, there are fewer schools opting to close their doors for the day. The schools confirmed close are Drumkilly NS St Mary's NS Crosserlough, Ballinamore Community School Kill NS, Killinkere NS and St Mary's NS, Virginia.
Some school bus routes are also not operating, these are A19, A22, A23, A24, A1696 and A1701
Elsewhere childcare services are opting to open later. Sunnyhollow creche opening later at 10am and Ballyjamesduff Community Creche
opening at 9:30am. Happy Days Childcare in Belturbet will open at 10:30am.
Meanwhile in Monaghan Drumkill Day Care Centre in Threemilehouse is closed today. School bus routes in the Clones area are also avoiding the Ture and Crossbane roads. Up-to-date information is available on our live blog on this website.
