A Clones man will attempt to rewrite history later today by becoming the first paralympian to secure his third Guinness World record in the space of just five months by pulling a 25 tonne truck.
Shane McLoughlin is setting his sights on achieving the extraordinary feat when he takes on the challenge at the Cavan Crystal Hotel at 5pm this evening.
The local man has taken part in some gruelling demonstrations of physical strength over the past number of months.
His first Guinness World record was receieved for pulling an 18-tonne truck pull in Dublin in May of this year.
A former lorry driver himself, Mr McLoughlin lost his left leg following a farm-related accident in 2001.
Shane said his motivation will come from the people gathered to see him enter the history books.
