A man charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of Clones teenagers Kiea McCann and Dlava Mohamed appeared before Monaghan Circuit Court this morning. 60-year-old Anthony McGinn, of Drumloo, Newbliss, is also charged with dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm to another person. Mr Martin Cosgrove, solicitor for Anthony McGinn, this morning applied for an application for a witness and exhibits order.
The application was granted with no objection by Judge John Aylmer. Judge John Aylmer also remanded the defendant on continued bail. Mr McGinn is due to appear again before the courts at a later. Anthony McGinn, aged 60, of Drumloo, Newbliss, Co Monaghan is charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of 17-year-old Kiea McCann and 16-year-old Dlava Mohammed at Legnakelly, Clones on July 31 2023.
Mr McGinn is also charged with dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm to Avin Mohammed on the same occasion. Close friends Kiea McCann and Dlava Mohammed were killed when the vehicle in which they were travelling struck a tree while they were on their way to attend a debs function in Monaghan Town.
