Cllr Smith is hopeful that with continued pressure, a local link service between Ballyjamesduff and Cavan will soon be available to members of the public.

Due to be completed in 2025, the project will redevelop and refurbish the former Percy French Hotel.

Cllr Smith is encouraging members of the public to get involved with the consultation process.

Public lighting was discussed at a recent meeting of the Ballyjamesduff Municipal District.

According to Cllr Smith, farmers who did not plant commercially and have ash trees dying along their road will be at a huge financial expanse to remove them.

When the new treatment plant is developed, it will be able to cope with the next 25 years growth in the area.
