At the first full meeting of the new Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board this week, Councillor David Maxwell was elected as the Chairperson.
The meeting was opened by Dr. Fiona McGrath, Chief Executive who welcomed all the members to the new Board with the expectation that the Board and Executive would work closely together over the coming five years for the betterment of education in the region.
In his first address as Chairperson, Cllr. David Maxwell paid tribute to the outgoing Chairperson, Cllr. PJ O'Hanlon, praising his dedication and leadership during his tenure. He also thanked the outgoing Board members for their contribution over the past five-year term.
The members of the newly formed CMETB Board are as follows: Cavan County Council Representatives: Carmel Brady, Damien Brady, Niamh Brady, Brendan Fay, Clifford Kelly, Áine Smith, and Winston Bennett.
Monaghan County Council Representatives: Aidan Campbell, Colm Carthy, Seamus Coyle, Sinead Flynn, and David Maxwell. CMETB Staff Representatives are Lorraine Fealy and Colm McCormick. CMETB Parents are Rory McMahon and one female vacancy is yet to be filled.
David Maxwell says he is honoured to have been elected as the new Chairperson of CMETB.
