Cignal Infrastructure has won an appeal to construct a new mast in Clontibret.
The telecommunications company had been granted permission by Monaghan County Council last July, and was appealed by local landowners.
The application was to develop a 36 metre high multi-user tower at Carrickaderry, Clontibret.
Submissions were made in objection to the plans, but there were approved by the county planners.
The decision was appealed by members of the Tate family to An Bord Pleanala.
They argued that their original concerns weren't addressed in planning submissions and that there are already five masts within a three-mile radius of Clontibret village.
It was also said that the aerial maps had misidentified the site location as being on land owned a Mr Allan Tate.
An Bord Pleanala dismissed the appeal, having said that giving consideration to the plans, the development wouldn't impact the local amenities.
A first-party submission to have the development contribution charges removed was upheld by the planning regulator.
