The Children's Minster has told a local TD that he's seeking legal advice on extending the term of the Mother and Baby Homes Commission.
Fianna Fáil's Niamh Smyth raised the issue in the Dáil last night, as it's due to expire at the end of this month with questions still remaining over the handling and deletion of audio recordings of survivor testimonies.
She asked Minister Roderic O'Gorman not let the Commission cease until every avenue has been examined to retrieve the audio files.
Niamh Smyth told The Wider View yesterday that if the issue can't be resolved by the Department, she'd raise it with An Taoiseach.
The Minister responded saying he's already looking into all aspects of the request.
