A number of changes have been announced for the Diocese of Kilmore.
Bishop Martin Hayes says the appointments this year mark the initiation of partnerships between parishes which are being formed out of an already existing cooperation between neighbouring parishes.
Bishop Hayes says the changes follow a year of consultation and reflection of the pastoral needs of the people of the Diocese.
Among them, Very Rev. Oliver O'Reilly, PP in Ballyconnell will be the new CC in Arva, following the retirement of the Very Rev. Donald Hannon.
Meanwhile outgoing, Very Rev. Eamonn Lynch, PP of Killinkere will be replaced following his retirement by Rev. Darragh Connolly.
Very Rev. Peter Casey, has been appointed CC of Kilmore.
Very Rev. John McTiernan, PP Belturbet to also be Adm in Belturbet.
Very Rev. Brian Flynn, PP Laragh to be CC in Munterconnaught.
Elsewhere, Msgr. Liam Kelly, PP Kilsherdany and Drung to be PP in Ballyconnell.
Very Rev. Seán McDermott, PP Ballintemple to also be Adm in Ballinagh.
Rev. Martin Gilcreest, CC Cavan to be PP Laragh.
Rev. Darragh Connolly, Priest in residence Drumkilly to be PP Killinkere.
Rev. Loughlain Carolan, Adm, Killinagh and Glangevlin to be PP Killinagh and Glangevlin.
Rev. Yusuf Bamai, CC Kilsherdany and Drung to be PP Kilsherdany and Drung.
Rev. Thomas Small, Priest in Residence Shercock to be CC in Cavan.
Rev. Anthony Kidarathil, CC Munterconnaught to be CC Shercock.
All changes will take effect on Saturday September 3rd.
