The chair of the Darkness into Light Committee in Cavan says every suicide is a shock you never want to experience.
Fiona Corby has been speaking ahead of Saturday morning's event, which for the second year in a row will see smaller groups of family and friends walking the 5km at sunrise.
Fiona lost her brother to suicide and says that she can understand and empathise with all of those families that have lost loved ones in the region during a year that saw Cavan experience some of the highest suicide rates nationally.
However, she also said that the numbers now contacting Pieta House, who run Darkness into Light, has increased which means more people are reaching out for help.
Fiona is encouraging people to just give what they can this year:
