The installation of CCTV in Ballybay is hopefully "not too far away."
That's according to Cllr Richard Truell who says the process is going to consultation soon.
The addition of CCTV cameras comes on foot of anti-social behaviour and vandalism, particularly around the Town Park area of the town.
The bowling green along with public toilets at the Town Park were seriously vandalised a number of months ago.
According to local Gardaí, the provision of CCTV at this location would assist in deterrence of this activity and would be an aid to An Garda Siochana in both preventing any recurrence and in investigating offences.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Truell says CCTV will be very important down at the Town Park and in other areas across the town of Ballybay:
