A CCTV system for Castleblayney is being "actively fast-tracked".
That's the information that was delivered to councillors at a recent Carrickmacross-Castleblayney MD meeting.
MD co-ordinator Damien Thornton said a number of meetings were held with Gardai and they were preparing a presentation for the CCTV National Advisory Committee.
Elsewhere, a six-week public consultation on for a CCTV system on Carrickmacross ended at the end of last month.
The MD Executive will review the submissions received and present the findings to the Monaghan Joint Policing Committee.
Aidan Campbell expressed frustration at the slow progress but said he appreciated the work being done.
