There are calls for mobile CCTV cameras in east Cavan to clamp down on anti-social behaviour.
At a recent meeting of the Ballyjamesduff MD, councillors all gave examples of issues in their locality that could have been prevented if cameras were present.
The member's item was brought by Cathaoirleach of the MD Shane P O'Reilly, who said that if CCTV could be used for clamping down on litter then maybe it could be used for halting anti-social behaviour.
He said there have been instances where community groups have done great work only for it to be undone by so-called "idle hands".
Meanwhile, Cllr Trevor Smith said there were issues at Nun's Walk in Ballyjamesduff where a small group causes hassle for the community.
Cllr TP O'Reilly then referenced an incident at Virginia Church of Ireland and said anything that could try catch the culprits would be welcome.
Winston Bennett said cameras in Ballinagh are proof that they act as a deterrent, and that every village should have CCTV, with Philip Brady agreeing that there's less incidents in Ballinagh because people know it'll be seen.
The issue of where camera systems are stored is an ongoing debate, with Craig Lovett saying a local garda barracks is where it needs to be because not every village has a council-owned building and they don't operate seven days a week.
Councillors were told GDPR would be an obstacle, and the council can't 'pick and choose' which regulations to comply with.
It was said that if councillors wanted to write to the Minister for Justice on this, it was recommended it come through the JPC.
