Members of Cavan County Council agreed at this week's local authority meeting to maintain the Local Property Tax at its current level.
Last year it was increased by 15% and that will remain in place this year.
The meeting heard that if the tax was maintained at its current level, the local authority would be in a position to spend the revenue on additional services.
Those gathered were also told that Cavan County Council is facing into a year of financial challenges due to rising energy costs and the impact that is going to have on collectable rates.
Meanwhile, every county council in Ireland has the power to adjust the baseline rate of the Local Property Tax by plus or minus 15%
