A Cavan woman is urging people to be sun smart after her skin cancer diagnosis.
Amy McAtackney was diagnosed with Stage 1 melanoma in April, shortly after spotting a mole on her cheek.
A self-confessed sun worshipper, Amy has since undergone two surgeries and is now waiting to see if the cancer has spread further.
She says the scar left from surgery is now a mark of pride and shows the journey she has been on.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound News, Amy encouraged people to wear sunscreen and act if they feel something isn't right.
