A Cavan woman has raised over 17,000 euros for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association in recent weeks.
Marilyn O'Connor from Crossdoney hosted a night at the Cavan Crystal Hotel to raise awareness around the disease.
The charity ball 'Dance while you can' was hosted and organised by the Cavan native. Marilyn was diagnosed with motor neurone disease last August and speaking to Northern Sound previously she says she is determined to share her story with the world and create a better awareness about this condition. She added that she would like to be a beam of light for people who are suffering in silence and who are filled with fear.
