A Cavan woman has recently celebrated yet another momentous milestone.
Bridget Tierney from Loughduff enjoyed her 107th birthday yesterday, surrounded by family and friends.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show, her daughter Patricia O'Callaghan revealed that her mother recently contracted the Covid-19 virus, but "thankfully" recovered fast and is now in "great form" thanks to the wonderful care of her family.
Patricia added that her mother has "great faith" and travelled regularly to Knock up until the age of 99.
While Bridget Tierney is now one of Ireland's oldest individuals, her daughter says she lives "very much in the present" and to this day, is an avid reader and enjoys poetry.
Patricia also provided a clip of her mother reading a poem titled; 'The Noble Boy' - just two weeks after recovering from Covid.
