A Cavan wedding band member says there's still a lot of uncertainty around musicians returning to work.
It comes as senior Ministers approved plans to double the number of guests allowed at weddings from next week.
However they still won't be allowed any live music performances at receptions.
Kevin McDonnell says the government's focus on larger ticketed gigs is an example of how smaller entertainers have been ignored as restrictions ease.
Last month, he organised the "Irish Music Industry Stands Up" protest in Dublin that highlighted the lack of support the sector has received.
He told Shannonside Northern Sound that the government needs to stop grouping wedding and pub bands with the rest of the arts sector, and allow them to work again.
